Awardees 2002 - 2003

This is the second year of the Ichun "Jingo" Chen and Kuang-Shen Chen Memorial Scholarship for the Deaf program. We wish to congratulate the ten recipients of the 2002-2003 program - they are all outstanding individuals in the international deaf community.Six awardees are from Taiwan - three in high school (with excellent potential for growth and excellence), two in university, and one as a special education teacher after graduating from the Gallaudet University. Four awardees are currently in various degree programs at the Gallaudet University - each from a different country: China, Israel (Arab), Philippines, and Congo. The four international awardees have excelled in their contributions to their respective deaf communities. We still have many vivid and fond memories of Jingo's many international brothers and sisters (of different colors and races in the deaf community) before he graduated from the Gallaudet University. We plan to continue to sponsor both Taiwan and international applicants in the future. Again, our warm congratulations to all the 2002-2003 awardees.

Sincerely Yours,

Chen's Family, 1/15/2003.
